Depression

Depression is one of the most prevalent mental health disorders, affecting an estimated 21 million U.S. adults (8.4%) and over 330 million people globally. Prevalence is highest among young adults (18–25) and individuals with lower household incomes, with rates worsening significantly over the last decade.

Symptoms of Depression

Depression is more than simply feeling sad—it can affect every aspect of your life, leaving you feeling emotionally drained, hopeless, disconnected, or like you're just going through the motions. Even everyday tasks can feel overwhelming, and it may seem difficult to find joy, motivation, or a sense of purpose. The good news is that you don't have to face it alone. Through a compassionate, supportive, and evidence-based approach to therapy, we'll work together to understand the underlying factors contributing to your depression, develop healthy coping strategies, and help you reconnect with your strengths, relationships, and the life you want to live.

  • Feelings of sadness, irritable mood, feeling hopeless, worthless, low self-esteem

  • Episodes of tearfulness and/or crying

  • Decrease of interest in doing activities you enjoy

  • Increase in isolation

  • Low motivation

  • Significant changes with sleep (sleeping too much or too little)

  • Significant changes in appetite (little to no appetite or increase in eating)

  • Decreased concentration or indecisiveness

  • Decreased energy or easily tired

  • Recurrent thoughts of death and/or dying

"Depression may convince you that hope is gone, but healing begins the moment you choose to believe that your story isn't over."
