“…There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.”

– Laurell K. Hamilton

Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event(s) that overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. If you continue to carry bricks from your past, you will end up building the same house.

It goes without saying: Having a therapist whom you can develop a strong and comfortable relationship with is important. Finding a therapist of color is not easy - but we are here for you. If you experience oppression, subtle or blatant discrimination and racism, or struggle with integrating into your professional life as a minority- we understand your pain and frustration.

Life Transitions

One thing that is almost guaranteed is that we are going to experience life transitions.

  • Graduating High School and figuring out what is next.

  • Moving out of your house for the 1st time.

  • First time living on your own.

  • Your first job, getting married, starting a family, buying a home and much more.

Sometimes we need someone to talk to during these transitions and to know that you don’t have to keep your thoughts and feelings bottled up.
